FDM Special

Treatment of chronic and stubborn pain

Seminar with Marjorie Kasten PT, FDM Instructor AFDMA

Again after four years an FDM special seminar with Marjorie Kasten PT (USA) in Germany

 …

Marjorie Kasten (USA) is one of the most experienced physiotherapists who uses FDM in practice. She worked with Stephen Typaldos for many years. She had the opportunity to accompany and support the founder of the FDM, but also to influence the FDM and the Typaldos method through her experiences.

She not only supported Typaldos in the treatment of patients, but also developed specific applications and techniques, based in part on her physiotherapeutic experience. For example, she used balls and other tools to treat successfully fascial distortions.

For years she was able to observe Typaldos at his work, as she documented many of his treatments on video for him. She is also the co-editor of Typaldos’ FDM textbooks and she also supported him at seminars. After Typaldos’ death, she served as Executive Director of the AFDMA (American FDM Association). She is Steering Committee Member of the FDM GO (FDM Global Organization), which was founded in 2017.

Based on her knowledge and experience, Marjorie Kasten has published two books: “An Introduction to the Fascial Distortion Model” in 2009 and “Which way is up when you are upside down” in 2010, focusing in particular on the possibilities of Inversion Therapy for her FDM arrives.

In 2018, she became FDM instructor of the AFDMA. She got this tribute as first physical therapist in the US. Until then this vocation was reserved exclusively for American D.Os. (Docotor of Osteopathy). We are lucky that Marjorie shares her knowledge and experience.
